Starting Again

Assalaamu Alaykum Warahmatullah,

Dear brothers and sisters, it has been a long time since I have written anything or posted anything on my blog. This was due to a lot of reasons. My beloved father has passed away last Ramadhan, 27^th Ramadhan, 27^th August 2011. For this reason I was very busy and tied up with family related activities. Also I was not left with the same mind set as I had before.

Furthermore, I have started a university course from September and became busy with this. I have embarked upon a primary teacher training BA degree course.

From now on I intend to keep my blog updated and publish posts on different interesting observations and issues.

While visiting the sick, and Dua made by the sick

Umm Salamah narrated that the Prophet (SAW) said: 'When you visit the sick, or the dead then say good, because the angels say 'Ameen' to whatever you say [Muslim, Hadith number 2126]

Ali (RA) reported that the Prophet (SAW) said: 'When a Muslim visits his sick Muslim brother in the morning, seventy thousand angels make Dua for his forgiveness till the evening. And when he visits him in the evening, seventy thousand angels make Dua for his forgiveness till the morning, and he will be granted a garden for it in Jannah.' [At-Tirmidhi, abu Dawud]

Note: This Hadith mentions that the Angels make Dua for the vsitor of the sick people.  

A point to be noted is that which other religion or life style rather, promotes care and showing of affection for the sick in such a way. It makes one wonder that if Islam was common in society, the sick would be better looked after and less or no sick person will want to commit  suicide or kill them selves through euthanasia or mercy killing. 

Visiting the sick decreases or illiminates stress and depression of a sick person. Accoding to the 'World Health organisation', over 1 million people die from suicide. 'World Health organisation' also reported that suicide is the 13th leading cause of death world wide. 

Sometimes visiting the sick is not only passing time or making them feel better or giving and recieving Dua and Dua from angels or a family obligation. Yes, it canbe these at times, but at times it even be saving a person's life aslo. 

So think about this when you visit a sick next time or you hear a person you know is sick.

Allah helped a Mawlana and the Muslims in Italy

Several centuries ago, the Pope decreed that all the Muslims had to convert to Catholicism or leave Italy.

There was a huge outcry from the Muslim community, so the Pope offered a deal.
He'd have a religious debate with the leader of the Muslim community. If the Muslims won, they could stay in Italy; and if the Pope won, they'd have to convert or leave.
The Muslim people met and picked an aged and wise Moulana to represent them in the debate.
However, as the Moulana spoke no Italian, and the Pope spoke no Urdu, they agreed that it would be a "silent" debate.

 On the chosen day the Pope and Moulana sat opposite each other.

The Pope raised his hand and showed three fingers.
 The Moulana looked back and raised one finger.

 Next, the Pope waved his finger around his head.

The Moulana pointed to the ground where he sat.

 The Pope brought out a communion wafer and a chalice of wine.
The Moulana pulled out an apple.

With that, the Pope stood up and declared himself beaten and said that the Moulana was too clever.
The Muslims could stay in Italy.

Later the cardinals met with the Pope and asked him what had happened.

The Pope said, "First I held up three fingers to represent the Trinity.

He responded by holding up a single finger to remind me there is still only ONE GOD!!!

"Then, I waved my finger around my head to show him that GOD was all around us.

He responded by pointing to the ground to show that GOD was also right here with us.

"I pulled out the wine and wafer to show that GOD absolves us of all our sins.

He pulled out an apple to remind me of the original sin.

"He beat me at every move and I could not continue!!!"

Meanwhile, the Muslim community gathered to ask the Moulana how he'd won.

"I haven't a clue," the Moulana said.

"First, he told me that we had three days to get out of Italy, so I gave him the finger.

"Then he tells me that the whole country would be cleared of Muslims and I told him that we were staying right here!"

 "And then what?" asked a man.

 "Who knows?" said the Moulana. "He took out his lunch so I took out mine. And then he walked away!"

“If you love something, let it go. If it comes back it's yours. If it doesn't, it never really was in the first place”
